Harvie S Band
The music Harvie S creates and performs with the band combines modern and traditional elements
of Jazz with Afro-Cuban, funk, Brazilian and world musics. The unique sound embraces a body of rhythmic forms with the melodic
and harmonic sophistication of jazz and the extraordinary rhythmic intensity of Latin music. The central force and momentum
of the music spins from improvisation. These top shelf New York City based musicians perform in an explosively tight knit
working unit. The music is kinetic, dynamic and original and evolves at every performance.
The newest CD, "Funky cha",
features the full Harvie S Band performing a vibrant mix of Harvie S originals along with jazz standards.
Harvie S's first Latin Jazz CD, Havana Manana was released in 1999 on Bembe Records. His second CD on RVS
Records, New Beginning, features saxophonist Michael Brecker and Ray Vega on trumpet.
The Latest CD is "Funky Cha"
on Zoho Music Previous CD was "Texas Rumba" Zoho Music
Harvie S also performs in Trio with Daniel Kelly or Enrique Haneine and William "Beaver" Bausch
